Sober living housing is an important component of addiction recovery, offering those early in their journey to live in an environment that is safe and supportive, providing the structured support to strengthen the odds of long-term sobriety. What makes Beit Hillel Sobriety stand apart is our comprehensive vision to provide our members with the support and services that will assist them in returning to a productive and self-sufficient life.
Life Planning and Goal Setting
By taking the tools learned in a treatment program one step further, our sober living environments foster a focused vision toward the future. Sober living is a stepping-stone toward restoring the life that was torn down through addiction, so why not use the time to set new goals and create a plan for this new life? At Beit Hillel goal setting is encouraged, knowing that it creates a blueprint to follow instead of wandering aimlessly into the future with no game plan.
Continuing with Employment or Education
While a structured sober living home provides the drug and alcohol-free foundation for a safe living environment, it also allows the freedom for its members to continue to work or attend school. After being engaged in their work or academics for much of the day, members can return home to a supportive sober environment.
Referrals for Outpatient Programs, Therapists, Life Coaches, and Attorneys
Achieving long-term sobriety doesn’t happen in a vacuum. At Beit Hillel Sobriety we provide the referrals to the experts that aid our members in progressing in their recovery. Each recovering addict will have different needs at any given time, and our staff is there to guide them to the necessary resources.
Individualized Recovery Programs
There is no one-size-fits-all answer to addiction recovery. Individual needs require individualized programs and resources. We recognize that what may work for one member may not pertain to another’s recovery journey. By having lots of tools in the recovery toolbox, Beit Hillel can tailor a program to the individual.
Providing Structured Support
At Beit Hillel Sobriety, we understand that there is safety and security in a structured sober living environment. In order to provide a positive living experience for our members, we have certain rules, boundaries, and features that allow for continued progress in sobriety.
Weekly House Meetings and Check-Ins. House meetings and check-ins are an important aspect of communal living arrangements. They allow for members to discuss issues in a safe and non-threatening setting, which can allow for a more harmonious environment overall.
3x per Week In-House 12-Step Meetings. Experts in the field of addiction and recovery agree that a 12-step program is an important component in continued sobriety. These meetings allow for peer-support, fellowship, and accountability while members progress through the steps in a safe community.
Random On-Site Drug Testing. Beit Hillel has a zero tolerance policy on drug or alcohol use. Therefore, it is our practice to conduct random drug testing, which serves as a deterrent to those in early recovery who may be vulnerable to relapse. Ensuring that our homes are drug and alcohol free is our top priority.
Personal Responsibility and Accountability. Key to regaining not only a positive sense of self, but the trust of others that may have been torn down during active addiction is personal responsibility. By accepting responsibility for one’s own recovery, making no excuses or taking any shortcuts, the newly sober individual will restore his self worth. Being accountable to the program, to a sponsor, and to fellow members for follow through is also expected at Beit Hillel.
